Concept

The Institute for Music Education Research (Institut für musikpädagogische
Forschung – ifmpf) at the Hanover University of Music, Drama and Media
carries out interdisciplinary and integrative research in the fields of
historiographical, systematic and comparative music education. Music
education research means not only basic research, but also practical
applications, such as didactic theory and teaching materials. In combining
education and research, our students are introduced at an early stage to the
most current research findings and are encouraged to apply them. In addition
to its ongoing projects, the Institute publishes a series of research reports,
practical experience reports, and monographs which document the results of
our work. We also publish work by researchers outside of the Institute. The
opportunity to publish in-house allows for the prompt dissemination of current
research results.
